Nigel Havers

Nigel Allan Havers is an English actor. He played Lord Andrew Lindsay in the 1981 British film Chariots of Fire, earning a BAFTA nomination for the role and Tom Latimer in the British TV comedy series Don’t Wait Up. He portrayed the role of Lewis Archer in Coronation Street intermittently between 2009 and 2019.

Havers is most known for playing the quintessential old school Englishman with his dashing good looks, cut-glass accent and thoroughly charming manner.

Since embarking on his stand-up career in 2004, Joe has performed in comedy clubs up and down the country and has earned critical acclaim, an aspect of his career which continues today. In 2008, 2009 and 2010, Joe took his own sketch show up to the Festival Two Episodes of Mash with Diane Morgan.  The pair received great reviews and praise for the shows.

Jenny Eclair

Jenny Eclair, has been a stand up comic for Donkeys’ years, she was the first woman to win the coveted Perrier Award and hasn’t stopped banging on about it ever since. She still gigs regularly and is on tour around the UK with her new showHow To be A Middle Aged Woman (Without Going Insane).

Some of you might recognize her from tv, small screen highlights include, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, the ‘Grumpy Old Women’ series, plus the ‘Grumpy Guides’, ‘Grumpy Holidays’ and ‘It’s Grim up North’. She also occasionally crops up on day time telly and gets very excited about doing things like This Morning and Loose Women.

Weirdly enough Eclair was actually trained as a straight actress and has done ’acting’ on ‘Holby City’ and ‘The Bill’. In early 2009 she cropped up playing women of forty plus, in Al Murray’s Multiple Personality Disorder (ITV1).

James Acaster

James Acaster is one of the most brilliant and distinctive young comedians of his generation. A whimsical master, he has received acclaim from around the world, including a record breaking 5 consecutive nominations for ‘Best Comedy Show’ at the 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016 Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, and winning the 2015 Chortle Award for Best Show, and Best International Show Award at the 2014 New Zealand International Comedy Festival. As well as his glowing stand-up career, James is also a TV and radio regular and has secured himself as a favourite across both platforms, alongside many of his own projects.
James is currently on tour with ‘The Trelogy’, consisting of his last three Edinburgh Comedy Award nominated shows, ‘Recognise’, ‘Represent’ and ‘Reset’, performing three consecutive nights at each venue. James has a number of projects in development including a book he is writing inspired from his appearances of Josh Widdicombe’s Radio X show entitled, ‘James Acaster’s Classic Scrapes’.
James also makes things independently, a YouTube comedy series called ‘Sweet Home Ketteringa’ and an album with his band ‘Luna Dott Raids The Bee Pigeon’ which is available on bandcamp.

Henning Wehn

This is not the easiest of jobs because Germans allegedly do not have a sense of humour.  Henning does not find that funny.

He took office in October 2003 after watching an open mic night that left him convinced that he wouldn’t be all that much worse. Wehn has been performing as the self-styled ‘German Comedy Ambassador’ ever since.

Opinion on his stand-up is divided. Whilst Henning sees himself as one of Britain’s foremost social commentators, everybody else describes him as ‘that German bloke’.

Ellie Taylor

Ellie Taylor is an English comedian, television presenter, and media personality.  She has presented Live at the Apollo and Snog Marry Avoid?, has appeared on QI  and Would I Lie To You?  She is a is a regular on the BBC Two satirical news show The Mash Report.
Essex-born ex-model Ellie Taylor decided to give stand-up a go in 2011 after seeing a friend perform a five-minute set – and was soon snapped up to be a contestant on ITV1’s talent/reality series Show Me The Funny.  Ellie also performs at many of the UK’s major comedy clubs.

Stand up comedian, writer and actor Ellie Taylor has recently finished her debut stand-up tour in 2015 with her show Elliementary which was a smash hit at the Edinburgh Fringe last summer. Her TV work includes hosting BBC3’s Snog Marry Avoid and being a team captain on ITV2’s Fake Reaction as well as 8 out of 10 Cats.  She has also recently appeared on Mock The Week and The John Bishop Show and will soon be appearing on Alan Davies As Yet Untitled Her acting credits include a starring role in Comedy Central’s sitcom Brotherhood and working with Chris O’Dowd and Christopher Guest on HBO/BBC2’s Family Tree.

 

Adam Kay

Adam Kay is an extremely versatile comedy writer and performer, whose work spans narrative and sketch for TV, stage and radio including BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, Radio 4 and Channel 4.
Adam works as a script editor and gag writer, collaborating with a number of well-known comedy acts. Recent credits include his original comedy series, Crims, co-written with Dan Swimer, for the BBC, Very British Problems, Flat TV, Up The Women and Mongrels and is also a regular voice on The Now Show. Adam started out life as a doctor, but after a brief medical career, he swapped his white coat for a microphone. He fronted the popular musical comedy act Amateur Transplants, whose iconic London Underground Song had over 10 million hits on iTunes. Adam has four number one albums in the iTunes comedy charts, and won a 2014 London Cabaret Award. Adam is also a Sunday Times best-selling author. This is Going to Hurt, his “hilarious and heartbreaking” (Charlie Brooker), “blisteringly funny” (Jo Brand) memoirs from his former career as a junior doctor was published by Picador in September 2017. It received across-the-board critical acclaim and entered the Sunday Times best-seller list at number three, where it has spent the last six weeks (and counting). He has spoken about the book and the NHS on BBC Breakfast, Sky One’s The Russell Howard Hour.
Adam performs at numerous corporate events throughout the year, and can perform from 10 minutes, up to an hour. He is able to tailor make a set, suitable with a theme, or just perform that he does, exceptionally well. We will assume the client is familiar with Adam’s work and language

Rory Bremner

“Rory” Bremner, is a Scottish impressionist and comedian, noted for his work in political satire and impressions of British public figures. He is also known for his work on Mock the Week as a panellist, award-winning show Rory Bremner…Who Else? and sketch comedy series Bremner, Bird and Fortune, which featured veteran comedians John Bird and John Fortune.

Born in Edinburgh, Rory Bremner was educated at Wellington College and went on to attend King’s College, London, where he graduated with an honours degree in French, German… and imitating lecturers. While still at university, he performed at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and began his career on the satirical radio shows News Revue (LBC) and Weekending (BBC Radio) before embarking on a seven-year spell at the BBC.

Since then, he’s appeared in countless comedy shows from Have I Got News For You to Whose Line is it Anyway? including: Comic Relief, They Think It’s All Over, It’ll Be Alright on the Night, Mock the Week and QI.

He has now written and starred in over one hundred programmes for Channel Four, starting with Rory Bremner, Who Else? and including the specials: From Blair to Here, Blair did it all go wrong?, My Government and I, Geoffrey Malet – A Hero of Our Time, Bremner, Bird and Fortune at Her Majesty’s Pleasure (to coincide with the Queen’s Jubilee) and Between Iraq and a Hard Place.

Elsewhere, he appeared regularly on Breakfast with Frost, and has written and performed the BBC radio series Some of Our Pilots Are Missing and writes articles and diaries for The New Statesman, The Sunday Telegraph, The Sunday Times and The London Evening Standard.
