Esther Rantzen

After presenting a number of television programmes, Esther turned her focus to the horrific topic of child abuse. After presenting several programmes on the matter, Esther was led to found the honourable charity, Childline. Esther still remains the President of the charity which has been invaluable to the safety of many children in danger. As well as this, Esther produced and hosted the popular consumer programme “That’s Life!” which was aired for over 20 years. Esther is a compassionate and highly respected after dinner speaker.

Lord Jeffrey Archer

Lord Archer has had an impressive career in both politics and publishing. Being the author of the well know Kane and Able amongst many other books including First Among Equals, containing attributes of his knowledge and past experience as a member of parliament. Lord Archer served 5 years in the House of Commons and 16 years in the House of Lords and was also Deputy Chairman for the Conservative party 1985-86. Lord Archer has been the centre of many controversies and his speeches are of the highest quality reflecting his days as a politician and scandal focus.

Brian Blessed

Actor, Director and Explorer, Brian is instantly recognisable both physically and through speech!
Known for his thunderous voice, ebullient personality and imposing stature, Brian Blessed is one of Britain’s most highly regarded actors. Although generally cast in loud comedic and pantomime roles, such as Richard IV in Blackadder, Brian is a noted Shakespearean actor, and won the New York Critics Award for his portrayal of Caesar Augustus in the BBC series I Claudius.
He relates many amusing anecdotes from his distinguished acting career and mountaineering exploits to raptuous applause.

John Inverdale

John is an English radio and television broadcaster who works for the BBC, mainly covering sporting events. John Inverdale has presented a variety of sports programmes including Grandstand – which was one of the BBC’s longest running sports shows and his own BBC One sports chat show, Onside.  John recently signed a four year freelance deal with BBC TV and Radio to present Rugby 6 Nations, Wimbledon Tennis, Championship Athletics and the Rowing World Championships. John was a presenter for the BBC coverage of the 2012 Olympics.

Eve Pollard OBE

Eve is the First Lady of Fleet Street. She is the former Editor of Sunday Mirror and Sunday Express, as well as magazine supplements for many of the national Sunday papers. Returning to women’s titles she also launched Elle magazine in the US as its first editor-in-chief. A regular reporter on BBCs The One Show, Eve is a published author and biographer and also frequently appears on radio and TV from The News Quiz to You and Yours, This Morning to Have I Got News For You, Loose Women to the Daily Politics

Robert Winston

Lord Winston is Professor of Science and Society and Emeritus Professor of Fertility Studies at Imperial College London.

In the 1970s he developed gynaecological surgical techniques that improved fertility treatments. He later pioneered new treatments to improve  in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and developed pre-implantation diagnosis. This allowed embryos to be screened for genetic diseases and has allowed parents carrying faulty genes to have children free of illnesses such as cystic fibrosis.

He now runs a research programme at the Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology at Imperial College that aims to improve human transplantation. Robert Winston has over 300 scientific publications about human reproduction and the early stages of pregnancy.

Robert Winston is also Chairman of the Genesis Research Trust – a charity which raised over £13 million to establish the Institute of Reproductive and Developmental Biology and which now funds high quality research into women’s health and babies.

Lord Winston now takes part in after dinner speaking, with the view to putting the ‘buzz back into biology.’ He is a truly great scientist and inspirational speaker.

Nick Hewer

Nick Hewer is notable as Alan Sugar’s right-hand man and host of countdown. His time on the apprentice had made him a highly recognisable name as well as exploiting his diverse and impressive business persona and tactics. Nick started out in a PR firm which eventually led him to connect firm ties with Alan Sugar and his business and broadcasting ventures. Nick’s dry sense of humour and intelligent wit make him an amusing and entertaining speaker as well as an informative and knowledgeable character. Nick’s after dinner speech is one for everyone, even including a Q&A.

Steph McGovern

She has progress from Black & Decker engineer to BBC’s buisness reporter and co-presenter in the process she’s learned about lean production, explained monetary and econimic olicy to viewers, also danced a impromptu Irish jig.

Jeremy Bowen

Jeremy Bowen is a Welsh journalist and a television presenter. He was the BBC’s Middle East correspondent based in Jerusalem between 1995 and 2000, and has been its Middle East Editor since 2005
He joined the BBC in 1984 and has been a war correspondent for most of his career.
Jeremy has be under fire on many occations, he lost a colleauge and friend in 2000.
He is one of the few journalists inside Syria reporting on the currant crisis.

Alexander Armstrong

Alexander Armstrong is best known for being one half of comedy duo Armstrong and Miller. Their eponymous show ran from 1997 to 2001 and was renewed in 2007 for the BAFTA winning The Armstrong and Miller Show. Instantly recognisable as the presenter of Pointless and Have I got News for You, Armstrong has also appeared in many straight-acting roles. His credits include Love Life, Life Begins, Mutual Friends and Hunderby.
